For in-house legal teams and law firms

Make room for the legal work that needs you.

Draft and review contracts in Word. Reuse your team’s standards. Work across multi-document matters. Spend less of your day preparing the work, and more of it applying your judgment.

See a relevant workflow. Discuss your team’s needs, support and pricing.

You review the output. You make the decisions.

The work behind the work

You can finish the documents and still miss the work you meant to do.

You need to advise on the deal.

But first, you need to find the right precedent.

You need to explain the risk.

But first, you need to work through the agreement and summarize what changed.

You need to improve how the team works.

But the next contract is already waiting.

Your judgment is not the part to hand over. The repeated work around it is where you need help.

Start with your job

What are you trying to get done?

Start with the work in front of you. You do not need to know which product name to choose.

Your starting point: Word Add-In

Get from incoming paper to a usable response.

Prepare language, inspect suggested changes and work through contract questions in Word. Keep the final review with you.

01 Choose your job
02 Explore the workflow
03 Examine the proof
04 Discuss your next step

01 / Spellbook Word Add-In

Finish the agreement in front of you.

You need a document you can work with, not another window full of text to transfer.

Prepare language, inspect suggested changes and work through questions inside Word. Keep your attention on what the agreement should accomplish.

Bring a recurring task to the discussion. Examine the work produced and the checking it still needs.

Draft

A useful starting draft.

Create clauses and documents, including work based on preferred precedents and saved language.

Review

A second check before you respond.

Inspect suggested redlines and comments. You decide which changes to edit, accept or reject.

Ask

An answer you can explain.

Examine contract details, explore clauses and prepare summaries. Check the references and the result.

Playbooks

Your standards, ready to reuse.

Save instructions for how your documents should be reviewed. Bring approved positions into repeatable reviews.

Compare to Market / Benchmarks

Context for your negotiating position.

Examine terms against similar agreements by industry, jurisdiction and deal type. Market frequency informs your decision; it does not make it for you.

Explore Draft, Review, Ask and market comparisons.

02 / Spellbook Associate

Move the whole matter forward.

When a matter spans several documents, the work does not stop at getting one clause right.

You need changes carried across the set. You need connections between documents examined. And you need work you can inspect before you rely on it.

Multi-document drafting

Prepare related documents together.

Explore work across financing documents, disclosure schedules, employment packages and other document sets.

Coordinated revisions

Carry recurring changes across the matter.

Work through changes to terms and party details across documents, then inspect consistency and corrections.

Your evaluation

Assess the complete result.

Choose a real type of multi-document task. Include the review and correction work when assessing the effort saved.

03 / Autonomous Contract Management

Early access

Keep the work moving around the contract.

You need to know what has arrived, what needs attention and what happens after signature.

Explore a connected workflow for the steps surrounding the document, not only the document itself.

Before review

Bring incoming work into view.

ACM is designed to bring together intake and first-pass review against your standards.

During negotiation

Keep active agreements connected.

Explore collaboration around contracts and the work needed to move them forward.

After signature

The offering includes a searchable repository with renewal and risk monitoring.

Review the early-access offering

ACM has a separate early-access path. Confirm availability, implementation requirements and commercial scope. The customer results elsewhere on this page should not be read as ACM outcomes.

What the capacity is for

What you do with the time matters more than the time itself.

Keep more suitable work with the people who know your business.

Identify work your team can handle with support, and work that still calls for outside expertise. Make more room to advise the business without treating every increase in demand as an automatic increase in outsourcing.

See Dropbox’s in-house experience

Evaluate for

  • More suitable work handled internally.
  • More attention for the business’s decisions.
  • A clearer role for outside expertise.

Give clients more of the attention they came to you for.

Use recovered time for the conversation, the negotiation or the next matter. You decide whether capacity becomes growth, improved delivery economics or a more manageable day.

See Westaway’s practice experience

Evaluate for

  • More time for advice and negotiation.
  • Delivery economics that fit your fee model.
  • A working day you can manage.

For the person relying on your advice

Your client or business stakeholder needs to understand the decision, not the software behind it. Use the time you recover to make their next step clearer.

01 A reviewed agreement
02 Trade-offs explained
03 Your recommendation
04 A clear next action

Your evaluation

See whether it makes your work easier to finish.

You do not need to evaluate every feature at once. Start with a task you recognize, examine the result and decide what is useful.

01 / Choose

Start with one recurring job.

Choose something frequent enough to matter: incoming agreements, first drafts, negotiating standards or a document set. Identify where the time goes today.

02 / Inspect

Check the whole result.

Look beyond the first answer. Inspect the drafting, the suggested changes and the information you still need to verify. Include corrections and final review.

03 / Decide

Define useful progress.

Decide what a worthwhile change looks like for your team. Less preparation, more consistent work or a task you can finally move forward.

Your capacity
Total time to a usable result, including human checking.
Your control
Whether you can understand, revise and reject the proposed work.
Your consistency
Whether the result reflects the standards you intended to apply.
Your team’s adoption
Whether the workflow is practical enough to use again.

A faster first draft only helps when it reduces the work left for you.

Make an informed decision

Get the information you need to make your own decision.

You need more than a reassuring badge before introducing software to legal work.

Security and data handling

Examine the terms behind the promise.

Review the security documentation, data-handling terms and access arrangements relevant to your deployment. Confirm how your information is processed, stored and deleted.

Professional partnership

A confirmed Canadian Bar Association partnership.

Spellbook is the CBA’s exclusive AI drafting and review partner. Eligible members are offered 20% off annual licences.

A professional partnership is not regulatory approval or a guarantee of output accuracy.

Your questions

Before your next step.

Get clear on your responsibilities, your options and what you are agreeing to.

Will you still need to review the work?

Yes. Spellbook’s output is not formal legal advice. Its terms require appropriate accuracy evaluation. You remain responsible for how you use the output and the decisions you make.

Read the terms of service.

How does it fit into your existing workflow?

Draft and review through the Word Add-In. Use Associate for work across document sets. Evaluate the relevant workflow rather than assuming every offering requires the same setup.

Explore the Word workflow. Explore Associate.

What should you compare with a general-purpose AI tool?

Compare the complete task. Look at how you bring in documents, reuse instructions, inspect redlines and move the result into your work. Include checking and correction time.

Examine the review controls.

What will it cost your team?

Spellbook publishes custom pricing based on the number of team members on the licence. Confirm your products, support and commitment in your quote.

Review pricing information.

Can you try it first?

Spellbook advertises a seven-day trial for lawyers and legal teams. Confirm the applicable terms before starting.

The published refund policy states that monthly subscriptions renew after the trial. Cancelling an annual subscription does not produce a refund for the remaining term.

Review the trial information. Read the refund policy.

What does zero data retention mean for your information?

Spellbook documents zero-retention agreements with its model providers. That is different from a promise that Spellbook itself never stores information.

Its terms separately allow input and output retention for quality assurance for up to 90 days. Other storage and retention provisions also apply. Review the agreement for your deployment before submitting sensitive material.

Read the security information. Review the contractual terms.

Can you get ACM through the same trial?

ACM is marketed through an early-access path. Confirm its availability and commercial scope separately rather than assuming it is included in a Suite trial.

Explore ACM early access.

Does saving time automatically mean earning more?

No. What the time is worth depends on your work, fee model and how you use the capacity. Distinguish time recovered from actual cost reductions, additional completed work and improvements in client service.

Your next step

Your next contract needs a useful starting point.
